It is recomended that you always run the latest version of WATS. Some older versions contain known bugs and security flaws. For a complete list of all file releases take a look at the project file releases page. You will probably also want to take a look at the plugins download page.

WATS 3.x

Joomla! 1.5 ready version of WATS. This version of WATS is not backward compatible with older versions of Joomla!.

WATS 2.x

Version 2.x of WATS is suitable for Joomla! 1.0 installations only. Please note that if you are running Joomla! 1.5 in 1.0 compatability mode you will still not be able to use WATS version 2.x. Versions prior to 2.0.6 are no longer available for download.

Upgrading WATS

WATS uses a custom upgrade technology. To upgrade, simply enable 'upgrade route' in your WATS installation. Then uninstall your current version of WATS, this will leave your data intact. Download the latest version of WATS and install it. This will install the new component and migrate your old data. For a complete guide to upgrading the WATS component please refer to the upgrade manual.

It is recommended that you create a backup of your database before completing an upgrade.
